It provides clear and complete information about your personal data that our site gathers. You can also view and control its handling.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Contact forms

When you interact with us by using a contact form, the information we collect directly from you are the following contact details: name, email address, company/body/organisation’s name, position/job. You decide how much information to share with us. However, not sharing your email address will make it impossible for us to reply to your request.

Furthermore, the following information is collected automatically when you use a contact form: IP address, browser name and version, preferred language, geographic location achieved by IP address and/or GPS when enabled on your device, operating system (computer platform), internet service provider (ISP)’ name, date & time of the visit, referral & exit page.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Analytics

To analyse the use of our site with the aim of improving the website user experience, we use Google Analytics, a web service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”).

The information generated by the cookie when visiting our site (including your IP address) will be stored by Google on the servers located the United States.

Google who acts as independent data controller will use the information collected for the purpose of analysing your use of our site, by making reports to us on your website activity (your IP address, browser type and pages visited on this site, by placing a tracking cookie in your web browser). Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google’s behalf.

Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google as it collects information in an anonymous form, therefore not permitting to identify you. No personal information about you will be collected through Google Analytics.

Who we share your data with

Other than the Google Analytics properties mentioned above, we do not share your data with any third parties, including social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Who can see my personal information

If you use one of the contact forms, the message can only be seen by our website’s editor who receives it on his/her business email address. 

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

Google Analytics trackers are automatically deleted after 26 months. Contributor names and email addresses are stored indefinitely, unless you requested..

What rights you have over your data

If you have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you by sending such a request to privacy@fdv.cgil.it. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

How we protect your data

Your    privacy    is    critically    important    to    us.    Our site has been implementing by taking all reasonable precautions to keep your personal information secure.

We protect visitors’ data with the following site’s features:

  • We are entirely using SSL/HTTPS throughout all our sites. This encrypts our user communications with the servers so personal identifiable information is never captured by third parties without authorization.
  • Access to your personal information is restricted to prevent unauthorised access, modification or misuse and is only permitted among our employees and agents on a need-to-know basis.

What data breach procedures we have in place

We know how to recognise a personal data breach and have prepared a response plan for addressing timely any personal data breaches that occur.

We have assigned responsibility for managing breaches to our DPO.
